Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in thesynthesis of asparagine. This gene complements a mutation in thetemperature-sensitive hamster mutant ts11, which blocks progressionthrough the G1 phase of the cell cycle at nonpermissivetemperature. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have beendescribed for this gene.
