Background:
CD226 is a glycoprotein expressed on the surfaceof NK cells, platelets, monocytes and a subset of T cells. It is amember of the Ig-superfamily containing 2 Ig-like domains of theV-set. The protein mediates cellular adhesion of platelets andmegakaryocytic cells to vascular endothelial cells. The proteinalso plays a role in megakaryocytic cell maturation. [provided byRefSeq].
