Background:
This gene encodes a member of the cytokine type I receptorfamily. The protein forms a secreted complex withcardiotrophin-like cytokine factor 1 and acts on cells expressingciliary neurotrophic factor receptors. The complex can promotesurvival of neuronal cells.
