Immunoprecipitation of CTP synthase / CTPS from 300 µg extracts of HeLa cells was performed using 0.5 µg of CTP synthase / CTPS Rabbit mAb. Rabbit Control IgG was used to precipitate the Control IgG sample. IP samples were eluted with 1X Laemmli Buffer. The Input lane represents 10% of the total input. Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitates was conducted using CTP synthase / CTPS Rabbit mAb at a dilution of 1:500.

Background:
This gene encodes an enzyme responsible for the catalytic conversion of UTP (uridine triphosphate) to CTP (cytidine triphospate). This reaction is an important step in the biosynthesis of phospholipids and nucleic acids. Activity of this proten is important in the immune system, and loss of function of this gene has been associated with immunodeficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
