Background:
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of thedickkopf family. The secreted protein contains two cysteine richregions and is involved in embryonic development through itsinteractions with the Wnt signaling pathway. Activity of thisprotein is modulated by binding to the Wnt co-receptor and theco-factor kremen 2.
