Immunoprecipitation of EIF4A1/EIF4A2/EIF4A3 from 300 µg extracts of MCF7 cells was performed using 2 µg of EIF4A1/EIF4A2/EIF4A3 Rabbit mAb. Rabbit IgG isotype control was used to precipitate the Control IgG sample. IP samples were eluted with 1X reducing Laemmli Buffer. The Input lane represents 10% of the total input. Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitates was conducted using EIF4A1/EIF4A2/EIF4A3 Rabbit mAb at a dilution of 1:40000.

Background:
ATP-dependent RNA helicase which is a subunit of the eIF4F complex involved in cap recognition and is required for mRNA binding to ribosome. In the current model of translation initiation, eIF4A unwinds RNA secondary structures in the 5'-UTR of mRNAs which is necessary to allow efficient binding of the small ribosomal subunit, and subsequent scanning for the initiator codon.
