To detect Murine IL-9 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with ProSci’s Biotinylated Anti-Murine IL-9 (XP-5201Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Murine IL-9.
To detect Murine IL-9 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Murine IL-9 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Background:
IL-9 is a cytokine preferentially produced by T helper type 2 lymphocytes and active on various cell types such as T and B lymphocytes, mast cells and haemopoietic progenitors; but no effect of this cytokine has been reported so far on mononuclear phagocytes. IL-9 stimulates cell proliferation and prevents apoptosis. The IL-9 receptor (IL 9R) belongs to the haemopoietic receptor superfamily and its signal transduction involves mainly the (JAK/STAT) pathway.
