FUNCTION: Converts monoacylglycerides to free fatty acids and glycerol. Hydrolyzes 2-arachidonoylglycerol, a putative endocannabinoid (By similarity).

CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Hydrolyzes glycerol monoesters of long-chain fatty acids.

SIMILARITY: Belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Monoacylglycerol lipase family.

PATHWAY: Triglyceride lipolysis; last step.
