Background:
This gene encodes a leucine-rich cytoplasmic protein, which is highly similar to a mouse protein that negativelyregulates Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II phosphorylationand may be essential for spatial learning processes. Severalalternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have beendescribed.
