Background:
Otubains are deubiquitylating cysteine proteases (DUBs;see MIM 602519) that belong to the ovarian tumor (OTU) proteinsuperfamily. Like other DUBs, otubains cleave proteins precisely atthe ubiquitin (UB; see MIM 191339)-protein bond.
