Host Species:
Rabbit
Species Reactivity:
Human
Immunogen:
Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hPF-4 (human Platelet Factor-4).
Conjugate:
Biotin
Tested Applications:
ELISA, WB
Application Note:
ELISA:
Sandwich:
To detect hPF-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with our Polyclonal Anti-Human PF-4 (XP-5256) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hPF-4.
Western Blot:
To detect hPF-4 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hPF-4 is 1.5 - 3.0 μg/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Purification:
Anti-hPF-4 specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Clonality:
Polyclonal
physical-state:
Lyophilized
Concentration:
batch dependent
Storage Conditions:
PF-4 antibody is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20°C. The reconstituted antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-8°C. Frozen aliquots are stable for at least 6 months when stored at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Background:
Platelet factor 4 (PF-4) is a 70 amino acid protein that is released from the alpha granules of activated platelets and binds with high affinity to heparin. Its major physiologic role appears to be neutralization of heparin like molecules on the endothelial surface of blood vessels, thereby inhibiting local antithrombin III activity and promoting coagulation. As a strong chemoattractant for neutrophils and fibroblasts, PF-4 probably has a role in inflammation and wound repair.
