Background:
This gene encodes a member of the SFRP family thatcontains a cysteine-rich domain homologous to the putativeWnt-binding site of Frizzled proteins. SFRPs act as solublemodulators of Wnt signaling. Methylation of this gene is apotential marker for the presence of colorectal cancer. [providedby RefSeq].
