Background:
This gene encodes a multi-pass membrane protein that ispart of the mammalian endoplasmic reticulum. The encoded proteininfluences glycosylation and facilitates the translocation ofsecretory proteins across the endoplasmic reticulum membrane byregulating which domains of the nascent polypeptide chain arevisible to the cytosol during a translocational pause.
