Background:
This gene encodes a member of the testis-specificserine/threonine kinase family. The encoded protein is thought tobe involved in spermatogenesis via stimulation of the CREB/CREresponsive pathway through phosphorylation of the cAMP responsiveelement binding protein transcription factor. Alternative splicingresults in multiple transcript variants.
