Single Domain Antibodies

Single Domain Antibodies: Compact, Stable, and Versatile

Innovative recombinant antibodies are produced from the binding domain of heavy-chain-only camelid antibodies, single-domain antibodies (sdAbs), sometimes known as VHH antibodies. Targeting unique epitopes that regular antibodies cannot reach, these antibodies, with their small size of roughly 15kDa and prolonged, structurally different Complementarity Determining Region 3 (CDR3 region), are able. Their small size also contributes to remarkable stability, enabling them to perform effectively across a broader range of temperatures and pH levels compared to conventional antibodies.

ProSci single domain antibodies (sdAbs)

High-Performance Single Domain Antibody Production

ProSci guarantees the generation of excellent single-domain antibodies by using a rigorous methodology. The method starts with the vaccination of proteins expressed in appropriate systems to induce a strong and focused immune response, like mammalian systems for human proteins. Following this, a cDNA library is constructed, and binders are panned in solution to identify those with the desired specificity and affinity.

Each binder undergoes extensive screening to confirm its effectiveness across various applications, including ELISA, histology, and flow cytometry, ensuring reliability and versatility for research and diagnostic needs. ProSci’s advanced techniques and rigorous quality standards make their single-domain antibody production a trusted choice for scientific and medical advancements.

So how are single-domain antibodies detected if they do not have a constant region? ProSci sdAbs are easy to detect with ProSci Cat. No. PM-7669.

Recombinantly produced, sdAbs allow for lot-to-lot reproducibility, maintaining consistency of quality. These antibodies are also easily genetically manipulated and the binding domain can be fused to other scaffolds such as Fc domains.
